Beginners Oil painting class - Creative Space - Staple Hill - Bristol - 28 Oct - 2 Dec - Fully Booked
Our 6 week oil painting course is perfect for beginners in oil painting, or for those wanting to revisit the building blocks of painting, including brushwork, composition, colour, tone and form. You will be working from still life in the studio and taking inspiration from successful painters in this genre. In the first two lessons you will explore composition and tone through small studies, first in charcoal, and then in monochrome oils. As you build confidence, you will experiment with colour mixing, with the goal of producing at least one final colour still life composition.

Bristol Plein Air Painters Exhibition
The inaugural exhibition by the Bristol Plein Air* Painters brings together a collective of artists working across the city and beyond, united by a shared commitment to painting from observation. Part of Blooming Bedminster and the Bedminster Garden Festival, the exhibition reflects a collective engagement with place: observed, revisited, and reinterpreted through paint.
*The French term plein air means out of doors
